Kids Need to Contribute to Wedding Costs Too

My daughter and her fiance announced their engagement last week and now we are sitting down to talk about finances with them both.  As the parents of the bride, I know it’s expected that we pay all of the costs. But these two are going to have to pitch in some if they really want wedding castles and horse drawn carriages as she has always talked about.  They both have good jobs and are thoughtful individuals so I do not think it will be an awkward talk. I think my husband and I will tell them how much money we can contribute. After that, it’s up to them.
