Redundancy Can Open The Door To New Opportunities

I was made redundant last year from my job of almost 20 years due to cutbacks. Having spent most of my working life at this job I was terrified at the prospect of not just finding a new working environment to work in, but just  finding one in the first place. I have always had a keen interest in cake making and with a bit of money saved, I decided to open a small cafe in my town. I can now say that redundancy was the best thing that ever happened to me. It gave me the kick up the backside to go and do something I really wanted after 20 years sat behind a desk in the bank. I am now doing what I love and the business is a great success to boot.
