When choosing a contractor, be sure to check the Better Business Bureau for a history of complaints. This is one of the first places an unhappy customer will go when they can’t get an issue resolved through direct communication with the contractor.
Also, check with the regulatory board in your state to see if they have a list of licensed professionals in your area. They can also tell you if the contractor you are thinking of hiring has any infractions against his license.
