Over one hundred bird species live in the region

On a recent trip to New Zealand, we traveled all over the South and North Island, but one of our favourite areas was definitely central park on the North Island. There were so many places to visit, so many things to do, and there was a lot of different types of scenery along the way. My husband and I are both avid bird watchers, so we really liked visiting the Coromandel. On one of our tours that we went on, they told us that over one hundred migratory bird species live in the region, which we found truly amazing. One of the best places to watch the birds was at the Karaka Bird Hide. We took lots of fantastic photographs, and saw some really unique birds that day. I think one of my favourites, was getting to see the tranquil and beautiful white heron.
